A Google Alphabet

Flying Spaghetti Monster Google Doodle

A few days ago, Google released an incredible upgrade – Google Instant. They decided that they couldn’t make their search engine work any faster, and that the human element was slowing down search. So, they decided to speed that up, and have results of what they think you’re searching for show up as you type. It’s really pretty amazing, and has led me, and many other places, to find out the alphabet according to Google.

A – Amazon
B –
Burlington Free Press
C –
Craigslist
D –
Dartmouth Coach
E –
Ebay
F – Facebook
G –
Gmail
H –
Hulu
I – IMDB
J –
JetBlue
K –
Kmart
L –
Lowes
M –
MapQuest
N –
Netflix
O –
Orbitz
P –
Pandora
Q –
BrainyQuote
R –
Rutland Herald – Rutvegas whatttt
S –
Sears
T –
Target
U –
UPS
V –
State of Vermont
W –
Weather
X –
Xbox
Y –
Yahoo!
Z –
Zappos

It’s mainly a list of national, recognizable brands on there, but it’s clear that there is a local flare in there as well. The only really strange one on there was BrainyQuote at Q; the most fun one has got to be W. Just by typing in W it not only gives you the Weather Channel site, but above the results it gives you a four day forecast. Pretty handy feature, and definitely makes life easier. I can’t wait for it to come to Chrome’s Omnibar – now that will be useful.
